William F. ★★★★★

The ESU LokSound5 decoder in this P42 is incredibly crisp, especially the horn and engine revving. I was surprised how smoothly it runs right out of the box on my Kato track, no tweaking needed. A solid purchase for any Amtrak fan.

Lily ★★★★★

The directional Golden White LED headlights are crisp and bright, and the body-mounted KATO couplers make coupling easy. Runs smoothly right out of the box with great sound from the LokSound decoder.

Eva T. ★★★★★

The ESU LokSound5 decoder made this engine come alive on my layout—the horn and engine sounds are incredibly crisp. Body-mounted couplers mate perfectly with my other rolling stock, and the directional headlights are bright and prototypical.
