I’ve been using this foam cradle to hold a large ship model while painting, and the concave side keeps it perfectly stable. The .027 tinplate trains fit nicely on the convex side, too, which was a nice surprise.

I love that I can use the convex side to work on my ship hulls without them wobbling—such a clever design. It even fits my .027 scale tinplate trains perfectly for painting.

I was hesitant it might be too small for my larger ships, but my 1:48 scale freighter sits perfectly in the convex hull shape without wobbling. The foam is firm enough to support the weight yet soft enough not to scratch the paint. Really speeds up detailing work.
