Description
Air Light Sea Blue is a low-saturation, slightly dusty blue specifically designed to replicate ANA 608, the upper fuselage color in the iconic U.S. Navy tri-color camouflage scheme from 1943–44. This airbrush-optimized formula ensures smooth application, soft edge transitions, and authentic wartime finish on scale aircraft. Also applicable to warships and Pacific theater modeling.

Historical Background
• ANA 608 Light Sea Blue was introduced during World War II as part of the U.S. Navy's effort to improve camouflage effectiveness on aircraft.
• It formed the mid-tone layer in the tri-color scheme (paired with Non-Specular Sea Blue and Insignia White).
• Used extensively on aircraft such as the F6F Hellcat, TBF Avenger, and F4U Corsair.
• Closely aligned with Federal Standard FS 35189, helping modern modelers match historical palettes accurately.

Modeling Use Cases
• WWII Aircraft: Corsairs, Wildcats, Hellcats, Avengers
• Naval Dioramas: Shipboard aircraft and deck surfaces
• Terrain & Machinery: Subtle blue-gray steel elements or faded industrial gear
• Weathering Base Layer: Undercoats for faded or oxidized blue-gray surfaces

Tips for Best Results
• Use over a light gray primer to preserve tone fidelity
• Thin sparingly if needed; already optimized for airbrush use
• Highlight with lighter gray-blue or desaturate with haze-gray drybrush for weathered effects
• Pairs well with Non-Specular Sea Blue, Insignia White, and Deck Blue

Micro-Mark Acrylic Airbrush Thinner if needed for custom blending. Air Light Sea Blue is available in the Airbrush Railroad Acrylic Paint Set.

Miles ★★★★★

I've been hunting for a proper ANA 608 match and this desaturated blue is spot on, no fiddling needed. Thins nicely at around 15 psi and covers the upper surfaces of my 1/48 Corsair in two light passes.

Andrew U. ★★★★★

Sprayed this on a 1/72 Hellcat and the desaturated blue is exactly what I wanted, no thinning needed straight from the bottle. The 20ml size went further than I expected at low psi, though I'll probably grab a second one for my Corsair.

Joseph ★★★★★

The ANA 608 match is spot on for my 1/48 Corsair build, no mixing needed. Thins fine with just a few drops and lays down that desaturated Navy blue without clogging my 0.3 tip.
