The special indicator on this center finder makes it so easy to locate the exact center on my wooden dowels, and the 1-1/2 inch shank fits nicely into my drill chuck. I've used it on a few metal rods too, and it works just as well—definitely a solid precision tool for the workshop.

I've been using this center finder on my lathe and it hits the mark every time on round stock. The 3/8" shank fits snugly in my chuck without any wobble.

Took it straight to my drill press and it located the center of a steel rod perfectly on the first try. The 1-1/2 inch shank gave me plenty of grip in the chuck without any wobble.
